Motorola Mobility follows in the footsteps of Samsung and LG adding compatibility for VMware. The move was decided to push products to the Motorola business users. The VMware client for Android smartphones allows users to change the mode of use of their equipment functions between open that can be used for personal purposes, and those devoted specifically to the work, which includes then the app for productivity and communication test malware.
Motorola did not disclose other details about this initiative, such as which are the models on which VMware’s hypervisor is present or when we will see this change, but it seems that VMware is preparing for the official announcement of the partnership with Motorola as soon as possible. A spokesman for VMware has announced that the announcement of other partners, after LG and Samsung, will take place during this month.
The virtualization of the smartphone to make this duality on the same device, and have the opportunity to run a software absolutely secure and tamper-resistant, however, has the contra-indications: for example, it is unlikely that a home user might be interested in this kind of offer. People used to go from one app to another very quickly: if for some functions are constantly asking them to make a login account with the business, many will soon cease to use such a system.
The interesting part is, however, represented by the so-called option dual billing, which could be achieved when the company pays a portion of the device that is delivered to the user-dependent, leaving him free to use the open Android smartphones of their own, and part of the business, funded by the employer.
An alternative solution to that is provided by VMware products 3LM, a company acquired by Motorola a few years ago whose job is to ensure that transmissions between Android devices and the servers of companies. The service also includes the ability to encrypt every transmission from the device and to the ability to create black and white list.
